Our Programs
Aging Mastery
Fuerza Latina and CSU Larimer Extension regularly offer the Aging Mastery Program in Spanish. This program is designed to inform, encourage, and support older adults as they take steps to improve their lives and engage with their communities. The Aging Mastery course is about feeling better today and staying healthy for the future.
Book club
Fuerza Latina’s first book club gave community members the opportunity to gather in appreciation of their culture. Through reading a discussing a book written by a Latina author about the Latine experience, the book club was a celebration and inspiration for those who were able to attend. They ended the book club with a visit from the author! Fuerza plans to host other books clubs this coming year.
community celebrations
We recognize how difficult it can be trying to navigate life in another culture. In order to encourage and support each other, we participate in various community celebrations throughout the year, such as Dia del Nino, Dia de Los Muertos, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc.
community empowerment clinics
Our quarterly empowerment clinics, co-hosted with ISAAC of Northern Colorado and Poudre Libraries, provide presentations and trainings on topics such as immigration legal issues, worker rights, mental health, and housing rights. We also provide equitable access to community resources during a resource fair and workshop time.
Fondita latina cooperative & business entrepreneurship
La Fondita Latina is a restaurant based cooperative and is a model for a new system that will create jobs and opportunity for immigrants in our community. Look for updates soon about the grand opening of their restaurant in downtown Fort Collins!
